Yellow Top

I was thinking about transfering my yellow top from my old runner to the new 4th gen. Anyone tried swapping a battery in a fourth gen yet?

I probably won't need that much power but it makes me feel warm and fuzzy when I'm out in the middle of no where.

The manual states all sorts of cautions about systems getting bolluxed up if you disconnect the battery. They read like typical car manufactures "don't take things apart" warning. Anyone.

It's a battery just like the rest of them, not a a-bomb. Shouldn't be a problem!

I got (3) yellow tops in my rig...

Brian, theres a couple more gizmo's and gadgets in there than yours! Have you seen the interior of the 4th gens. It could infact be run off a plutonium core. I mean seriously, I think it does come stock with a flux capacitor. there are a ton of electric control systems in it. All of which discuss resetting procedures in the case the battery is disconnected. I'm not being paranoid just wanted to see if anyone had experienced any huddles in doing so.

if your really worried about it, use some jumper cables, to the new batt. while you relpace it. this way you never have to loose power.

Look at it this way... when your battery goes bad you will have to replace it anyway or just let it sit in the driveway or the boondocks and look at it. Just replace it and if you have to reset anything do as the manual tells you. Mike

To clarify and restate, I'm just asking if anyone WITH A 4th GEN RUNNER, has replaced the battery and encountered any annoyances with it's electic nervous system? This is not a "how do you change a battery?" thread, nor a "i've never changed a battery, is it difficult?" thread.
