TR4.org - Only for 4th Gen???
When I got my 3rd gen three months ago, I googled 4runner forums and ended up at tr4.org. I looked through the 3rd gen stuff pretty quickly and found yotatech. Boy was I lucky.
Anyway, yotatech has been down lately and I need my 4runner fix so I've spent more time at tr4.org and found other forums (accessories, offroading, etc.). They have useful info and great contributors but everything I look at (at least 95%) is for 4th gen only. Is this pretty accurate? If so, I guess I'll just be spending more time with yotatech...

Yeah, it's mostly on the 4th gen. ... but I still find myself here more often.
I found YT first and stuck with it!
(t4r.org is still helpful and full of great guys, it just depends on what kind of info you are looking for at the moment)

Heres my take:
www.toyota-4runner.org = Mainly 4th gen soccer mom 4Runners, street queens, wanna-be wheelers, and only the lastest mods apply (nothing wrong with that).
oh and running boards are manditory.
Seriously though.. besides the overwhelming advertising, it's a pretty good forum for newer models wanting to upgrade various parts.
www.Pirate4x4.com = Hardcore rock crawling, lots of flamming, and everyone knows whats best. Be prepared to throw your morals out the door if you join. You can learn so much in an hour that it hurts your brain but nonetheless always a wealth of information. Good forum once you "graduate" or have endless amounts of money to spend.
www.4x4wire.com = Complex. Stays "on top" ever so slightly due to the massive amount of tech info, articals, and google searches. The website navagation is'nt exactly user friendly. Should be updated more often. Over all, it could be be much better. Thread response is slow but replies can be worth the wait. Mostly solid axel wheelers but noobs with IFS seem to be welcomed. The home page needs a serious makeover. Tons of good reading if you search.
www.Yotatech.com = In a class of it's own. Countinous and countless off-road mods of ALL types, shapes, and sizes. Mostly 4runners but offers a lot of everything in between. Can always get or find an answer for any question no matter what it is. The largest Toyota 4x4 forum known to mankind. Also known for 'web wheeling' to which i say- ˟˟˟˟ 'em.
(with fingers on each side)
Simply put: The best will always cause jealousy.
www.Wildyoats.com = An equal mix of Pirate, 4x4wire, and YotaTech all rolled into one. The only bad thing is that nobody knows about them and if you do...then you always forget.
Still a good place to check out!
www.Tacomaterritory.com = Where Tacoma owners gather. Enough said.
www.Toyotaoffroad.com = The forum is very slow since it's members are scarce (and always will be) but it's worth checking out including the website for lots of info, reference, and pics.
www.ih8mud.com = "Exclusively for Land Cruisers" but has stuff for trucks and 4runners as well.
There you have it.
