Squeaking after Coilover install on 4th gen

Installed Donahoe coilovers in my 4th gen last week. The ride is outstanding but now I have all kinds of squeaking coming from the front whenever I go over a bump. Rather annoying to say the least. Any ideas if this is directly related to the coilovers or maybe I didn't tighten something correctly?

Also, if anyone from the Northwest has any thoughts on a shop that would install my Total Chaos upper control arms (involves drilling the hole in the spindle out to 3/4") I would love to hear about it.

I haven't had any squeeking on my 4th gen after install but mine are spacers. I would be happy to meet up with you and take a look though.

Try disconnecting the sway bar end links and then bouncing to see if the noise goes away.

WIth coil-overs I can't think of anything off hand that woudl squeak in the front as the coil-over comes preassembled. MAybe recheck the troque setting on the top bolts and the bottom bolt where Hoe connects.

Whatever you do dont disconnect your swaybar in the front and drive with it. Remove it completely if you want to see if that is it. CHeck your swaybar bushing though, maybe they are not seated properly now.

Mine didn't squeak, but I did make sure the sway bar was on tight since after one of my spacer installs I had that horrible squeaking over bumps.

That'd be one of the first things you'll want to check ..

Just shooting in the dark but could it be the heim joint? Do they need lubing or?? Are there any polyurethane bushings in the mix anywhere? Those might squeak.

Good luck

My 4th gen 4runner V6 4x4 non-XREAS had squeaking in the front suspension, but it was fixed by the dealer, based on some TSB. This was without any lift.

Rishi, yeah, that was a TSB on the suspension bumper on some trucks. I don't think that is what the squeaking is on his, since the squeaking started after he put the Donahoe coilovers in. (And previously, he had been running a different lift)

from your post, I take it that you have the stock UCA still on the truck?
That might be your problem, overextending your upper ball joints. I have the TC UCA and did not have to drill the spindle when I installed my ICON (Donahoe Racing) Coilovers on my 2003 4Runner. Also check all your torque settings, especially the 3 top bolts, they need to be retorqued after you drive abit. Almost forgot this. Did your kit come with the swaybar relocation pieces? you refer to your coilovers as "Donahoe" which was the manufacture before they changed to ICON. I'm thinking that they did'nt have the spacer kit in the early days and your swaybar might be rubbing on your shocks
