Are you running a prototype, or is the lift finally available to the public? Looks good, but I feel somewhat suspicious...?....

Billy

Let us know if that is for real, as there are many people on here interested. Thanks.

that is very interesting. As many members on the board have been discussing a lift for the 03'. Haven't read any discussions about revtek though. If it's real, then that's awesome!

I just saw this kit for sale at Wheelers Offroad and was surprised since I hadn't heard anything about it. Not as cheap as you'd expect a spacer lift to be, but cool to see something for the 4th gens.

rev tek

The lift is not a proto. It is in full production. Part # is 431. Kit includes rear shocks and brake line relocate. Wheelers price is very good. I have known Gary (owner) for years before he started Wheelers. I gave him photos of this vehicle as I purchased
it from his Wheeler Toyota. I have run the lift for over 3,ooo miles and had no problems. I started trying to get this kit in January of this year and got the usual just another 2 weeks. I spent a week in September elk hunting and 4 wheelin, so it has been put through it's paces. I work on some more pics!!!

Did you have the Xreas suspension when you got your truck? If so, how does the lift affect it?

285/60/18 is....
Diameter = 31.5"
Width = 11.2"
Height = 6.7"

Good to hear another manufacturer is selling some lift kits for the 4th gen.

Now we have Revtek, Daystar both manufacturing spacer technology lifts

Downey has just called me back and told me that they will have the full suspenion setup done in 2 weeks for me to test. They are confident that things will go smoothly. They expect the finished product to hit the shelves in 30 days. I will have pictures up in about 2 weeks!

Last I heard SAW was working on a prototype as their owner purchased the 4th gen. So I'm guessing we'll be seeing something from them soon.

OME - no word.

If willy got the Revtek, I'm pretty confident that he does not have the XREAS system. Sorry for all ya XREAS owners as finding something for you guys will be mighty difficult.

Looks like someone got excited and did their homework ehe

Unfortunately those pictures do no real justice as it looks like regular coilover shots :/

I got to see the coilovers back in August when they just finished it for me to inspect. It was just painted so it was still fresh and shiny and boy did it look sweet!!!!

Unfortunately, they fell behind and didn't start on the rear coils until recently and it looks like they will be getting them done right about next week.

Good news is that they're a bunch of cool guys so I know they won't be pulling my leg. So I'm crossing my fingers that the lift will be in exactly 2 weeks! I will be ordering tires/wheels right now so when the lift comes in everything will be smoothly. We have yet to decide on a photo shoot day as my 4runner will be featuring their setup hehe! Now I just have to figure out what kind of wheels I want!!!!

For those of us that are lazy -

DOWNEY 2003 4 RUNNER SUSPENSION

Didn’t have to reinvent the wheel this time, just had to make a pricey little modification to it. Since Bilstein won’t have a 2003 4 Runner shock available for eons, we’ve had to go the expensive route. Bilstein disassembles their existing #2284 Tacoma shock, heli-arcs Downeys’ 3 chromoly bottom eye extension onto the shock, reassembles, recharges, reships, then we repaint. Yep, there’s a big labor charge for doing all of this, but when strength-of-shock must be equal to strength of the whole suspension kit, there can’t be anything flimsy or make-pretend about what we do. The real coil spring was simple, we sent a 2003 coil to Mid-West, told them to crank it up 2 and toughen it up 20%. They did the math, then churned out the bitchin product. All we had to do is add the bitchin silver powder paint finish.

Question

I just read the "tech talk" on downey's site. It talked about their lift kit durability vs. their competiors. For those of you in the know, can you list the kits from best to worst (maybe based on past 4Runner/Tacoma lifts if needed)?

Something like:
1. SAW & KingCoil (tie)
2. Downey & OME (tie)
3. Revtek & Cornfed (tie)
4. Daystar

[I don't really know about ranking above, just a guess/example]

Here's how I would rank em:

Coilovers:
King
SAW
Downey

Regular Coil/shock combo:
OME
Bilstein
Rancho

Spacer:
Cornfed
Revtek and Daystar

That's my thoughts but I could be wrong
