Ordering a Tacoma just the way you want it....possible?

I've having trouble finding an 08' tacoma the way I want it.

Access Cab
V6
6sp Manual
Convenience Package only (*NO SR5 package)
Blue or Maroon

Every dealership in WA that I have talked to has said.... "can't get it like that" or "we won't special order one for you."

Anyone know of a good dealership where this combo can be found. Or have any suggestions on how to get the truck I actually want. I've seen a couple, so I know they have been made like this.

Well if the dealerships are telling you they cannot order it a certain way, one would assume....

talk in with $30,000 cash. I bet they special order it then!

really press your local dealer and pay for it up front and you might have better luck getting it

I special ordered a Tacoma in '01, heres how, I went to www.kbb.com and there was a link for local dealers, I filled out emails with exactly what I wanted and sent it to the top three dealers.
During the next week I received responses from two of the dealers and I went with the lowest price (obviously) and about ten weeks later I took delivery of the exact truck that I wanted that I couldn't find anywhere (had that funky step-side style bed)......and three weeks later it was totaled while parked in front of a bar I used to hang out at.

let 'em know you are business...if they think that you are just a 'feeler' then they are more prone to say they can't get it for you because they don't want to put effort in and then find that you like the Nissan Frontier better (not that I am saying it is in any way!!!), or something like that...

Tell them that if they don't you'll go to a different dealer. S/O's are done all the time. My neighbor just S/O'd his '08 because they didn't stock them as stripped down as he wanted. It took about 3 1/2 months to get it in but they did for him.

I ordered my '07 exactly how I wanted it. I went throught the internet sales manager with no questions asked. This was when the '07 was just hitting dealerships and still only paid $118 over invoice.

But realistically, you cannot pick and choose each individual option. Toyota packages things together, so you may have to accept additional things that you don't necessarily want.

From your package below, the only thing I would question is whether you can get the V6/6 spd without getting the SR5 package. Check the Toyota website, KBB nad Edmunds - seems like at least some of those places only allow you to build a truck using the packages.

Thats what I was told when I was asking around for a 6speed FJ. Toyota does packages for the area you are in, and they put on what they think the most people will want on it. So you can't really pick or choose what exactly you want. You have to take some additional stuff. Hopefully I will be getting a new Taco or FJ soon and see what I can work out.

Build it on toyota.com that shows all different trims that the truck is available in, in your area. Take that to them and let me order for you.

I know this works because when I was looking one of the trims was only available in northern california and not southern california.
