Question R150F to A340F in a '99 tacoma - questions about the swap

Hey guys have been lurking and searching for a bit now. Could not find enough info on this swap, and I did search.

I am gathering that I need the ECU and harness to swap in the A340F, but what I need to know is if I need anything else, will it mate up to the bell housing correctly (length wise), and will my transfer case work with it still?

Can I swap an A340F from any year tacoma, ie 96-2004 ?

thanks for any input!

my truck : 1999 3.4L 4x4 5spd tacoma

I think you are correct with your plan, harness and computer.

Everything should bolt up as far as I know.

I would try to find everything from the same year of your truck or as close as possible because of some internal differences in trannies just to keep it simple to repair or get parts etc.

If you look up ORS. (Off Road Solutions) in the 3.4 swap tech section there is info about the differences in the transmissions from year to year.

Forgot to mention the radiator and transmission cooling lines will need to be installed or changed too.

Console, shifter and brake pedal will be different as well.
