New Hella Driving lights Installed

Here are pics of my new driving lights. I was going to do the floating mod on the lower grille but I wanted the driving light on bumper look instead. Usually driving lights are mounted on metal safari/bull bars, but the Toyota bar is plastic so I made my own mounts. Its like a bar/bumper mount. The lights are Hella Black Magics because I thought it would look good with the blacked out look. It came with a wiring kit which made it "hella" easy to install

ah looks real good. how stable are they? i JUST installed the same lights in the exact same location on my 2000 taco. the bumper is plastic but I bought longer bolts and went through some metal under the bumper. i'm awaiting a stability test.

Actually its quite stable. I've already taken it on light trails and there is no shimmer in the projection what so ever. The main support comes from the two bolts on the bar its self. I have two huge washers on the inside of the bumper. The L bracket I used is extremely tough too. I had to bend the bracket with a mounted vise to fit the contours of the bumper and bar. I did feel queezy drilling into the bumper but its okay. The bolt in the bumper is just added security. My concerns were the same as yours, but surprisingly its quite stable.

Thanx guys.

Yeah up next is probably a 2" lift. Xenon HID kit. Then 06" LED taillights. Then possibly Demello sliders. Id love to get rid of the running board but I transport too many people, who need the boards
