New guy here, wheel question.
Sup everyone.
New guy here from Washington. Just picked up an 04 4R SR5. My first rig, still learning.
Anyways, I just ordered an OME lift kit and I've been looking at tire options all day. First off huge thanks to Good Times for the sweet post with all the info.
I'm looking to run 285/75/16 ATs. I know that if I use my stock 16s I'm going to rub on the UCA but even with the Total Chaos UCA's (which I haven't found a price for yet) I'm going to hit the knuckle I read.
I've been looking for a replacement rim and I know that the TRD FJ wheel is a 16x7.5 with a 4.5" back space. Wheelers offroad has a 16x8 with a 4" backspace. Am I going to run into issues with only a 4" backspace? I can't seem to find what the backspace is on the 16s since it seems most people around here have 17s or aftermarket. I also could of sucked with the search strings I was using.
So, basically I'm looking at:
Lift (got it)
Aftermarket Wheels
Possible bodylift
Cutting
Having a bitch of a time finding aftermarket wheels though.
Anyways, sorry for being all over the place. Hopefully my posts won't be too unresearched.

You may want to check out what Camberg has to offer in the UCA dept. I went wheeling with a group and one fella was running some Camberg's with 285's. He did have after market wheels though. Didn't seem to be having any rubbing issues, when spotted for him a couple of times.

Thanks for the response. I tried to edit my title to be more on topic but I didn't seem to have any luck.
I've done some more research. I'm going to order up 5 of the FJ TRD 16's tomorrow. It seems they have the 4.5" backspace I need and I'm installing my OME lift Saturday. Once my tires get in (I'm guessing late next week at the soonest) then I'll throw on the 285/75s and see how fitment is. If I still have issues I'll look into a small body lift as well. I'm not sure if I will or not, a lot of people seem to be fine with OME+Majavos with the 285s.
Now with lift and tires out of the way, time for some sliders and then on to bumpers and a carrier.. man, this is getting expensive quick.

I had edited my title to say "Fitting 285/75/16 on a 4th Gen SR5" (or something to that extent).
Bandito, I certainly will. I really want to get the wheels and tires on there ASAP since I know that the rig is going to look goofie on the stock rims with the Toyo ATs.
