how big a tire can I fit on my 06 TRD?
Hello everyone, I just bought an 06 trd tacoma double cab 4x4 short bed and was wondering if I can fit 285/75R16's on it without any mods or serious rubbing issues.

I've got an 07 and wanted to know the same thing. I just didn't ask because I didn't want to be blasted for being a noob or not searching or something .
J/K about the blasting, but I do really want to know.

Essentially the stock 265/70R16s are a 31" tire. The biggest you can go and not rub is 265/75s, a 32" tire. The 285/75 is a 33" tire and is gonna rub big time.

so a 265/75R16 won't rub then?? I don't want to rub at all but want the biggest tire I can fit. I don't like the way the stock tires look. Also, any known prolems with the 4.0L/6 speed combo??

I've had my 6 speed a year. It feels a little weird but I love it. Haven't had any problems with it. I've seen in other threads and threads on other sites like toyotanation.com where other people have had big problems. One guy is on his 3rd 6 speed. Another guy had his keep popping out of 4th gear. One had a clutch problem.

Patience.
The owner bought the wrong style lug nuts and we are waiting on the right ones to get here, the sleeve type that are also acorned. They have to be PCd black as well. I will post the pics on the website as soon as we get the tires on, but the lift turned out great. The Taco will look awesome with the new tires and rims. Everything black.
