I had my 4Runner reprogrammed by the dealer while I had my alignment done. I love it now as it used toirretate me the wayit worked.

So now all the doors unlock with first press of the remote. Doors no longer lock after taking it out of Park, but rather when the 4Runner reaches 15MPH. Also all doors unlock when I put it back park and the ignition is still on.

 

Oh that's cool. Can you do it yourself or do you have to go to the dealer?

 

They said everything apart from the remote is in the owners manual. I have not seen it to be honest.

 

the single press of the remote to unlock all the doors (instead of two) has to be done by the dealer. they hook their little computer in there and do it. the service guy came out to my car in the parking lot and did it in less then 5 minutes. I couldn't stand pressing that thing twice to let other people in.

 

anyone know if you can change the doors to lock at 15mph on a 3rd gen? also change the doors to unlock with one button press? Thanks!

 

i'm pretty sure you can't. my sister-in-law has a 3rd gen, and i don't think so. will try and check it out though.

 

that would be awesome, cause its annoying when you start the car and it tries to lock, i usually start me car before everyones inside

 

do you have a rs3200 or an aftermarket alarm?

mine NEVER lock automatically...

 

My 3rd gen, came stock with the factory alarm and unlocks all doors with one press and with a sissy beep noise I don't really mind the doors locking after starting though.

 

i have the rs3200 plus alarm, its a toyota "after-factory" alarm

 

i reprogrammed my 4th gen last night like bulldog and have my locks to lock at 15mph, but mine unlocks after the 4runner has been turned off and i open the driver side door. Everything is in the manual... Ill refer to the page later in the morning.
