Put it in 4hi first. Let it fully engage (no flashing lights). Next stop, place it N and try for 4lo.

If that doesn't work, make sure the wheels are straight and roll it fwrd and bkwrd a little, eventually it will go in. I know some folks are really having some trouble getting into Lo. When I first got my Taco, I had some trouble myself, but if you use Lo a lot, I think it gets used to shifting into Lo, and gets easier.

I tried the first suggestion, did not work, I'll try the back and forth like it says in the manual, see if that works. will severe cold have anything to do with it? it's been single digit cold for the last few days but warmer today. I have my fingers crossed.

youre just turning the nob, not pushing the nob, you have to put it in N then push the nob and turn it to 4lo, that will do it

Question

I've been using 4Hi all week long and still wont go. yes I pushed in the knob, you have to, to get it to even turn to 4Lo. I think I'll head over to a dealer to see if they can do it. maybe there's a TSB for this. even the manual says to see a dealer if it wont go. maybe there's already a fix for the problem.
