Its been awhile since I have posted and now that things have slowed down at work I thought I would start visiting again.

So for the sliders...We put them to the ultimate test in Nevada and for protection they did really well. For lifting with a highlift...don't try it if you value your limbs! I have been told an updated model comes with gussets which these do not have. We found when we tried to lift the truck it pushed the slider into the body. A little too much deflection.

On another note I thought I would show some pics of the ARB 4runner after more than a year of abuse! Recently, we took the ARB runner down to Nevada for the Nevada Trophy Rally. If any of you ever get the chance to do this event...do it! Its a desert race paired with special events based upon GPS navigation to find waypoints. I will try and post a thread in the trip reports today. It was fantastic!

Oh I should mention I am not employed by ARB. I am just the lucky sap that gets to go on some of these trips with them!

On to the pics.

What happened to all the lights on the roof? Some have been replaced.

Has the roof rack gone into production?

Have you heard how sales of the ARB bullbar have been going? Vol. numbers? I suspect ARB aren't selling many - seems like very few 4th gens are getting bullbars at this stage, as opposed to the FJ's - just an observation from onroad scouting and viewing forums.

Do you still have the truck and are ARB designing anything else to fit the 4th gen that they will want added to the truck or are you now just in the "longevity" testing phase?

Thx
Mark

Very observant!

Since I don't work there I can only tell you what I know which is very little.

The HD lights in the middle seemed to work much better than having all of the floods lined up.

The roof rack is advertised on their site but is not in the online application chart. I am not sure if they are for sale in the US yet or not. I will check and report back.

Same goes for the sliders.

ARB still has the truck but like all of their vehicles the lifespan is limited. Especially, they way its been wheeled. Its likely that it will go back to Toyota (the people who currently own it) and it will probably be crushed. Much like the FJ trail team trucks. yeah that makes me sad too. To my limited knowledge I have not heard of any new products specifically for the 4th gen and to be honest I wouldn't expect any. Whats on it is pretty much everything ARB makes.

As for Sales I do know that since the 4th gen bumper has just come out sales have been pretty good. I have personally installed one on a 4th gen and the fit is quite good. With the ARB reputation I don't think they are hurting for sales.

We are selling about as many 4th Gens as Tacos. As for the roof racks I haven't had any request. they look great but no takers yet. You in the market for either or both?

As for the Tacoma Truck, ARB owned that one and Chris and Barb King bought it a few weeks ago. She fly out and drove it back and it has already had the battle scars repaired and is gettin new decals. Looks like the 4th Gen has taken a few bumps and bruises.

As for the Roof racks and Sliders they can be ordered but limited stock on them Usually needs a 4 week lead time to get here. Rack is a one off fab unit. They may be able to make one if we ask.

It was pretty scraped up when I took these pictures back in July.

I stand corrected......I thought he was talking about the Red Taco that ARB had. That is the one I was referring to. Anyway the pictures are great from that event. How about bringing the 4th gen to Texas to wheel the The Lonestar Jamboree next month?

Cool. I would not have thought so many were being sold. I wonder where they all are?

I am in the market for a rack but money is being allocated to other projects presently. Eventually a full roof rack is necessary.

What's the dimensions of the ARB rack? Especially important, is the height. Clearance getting into and out of the garage with the lift/tires+rack = ouch. That's if I hit it, that is.

Also, any idea of pricing?

As of today the word is no roof rack will be produced specifically for the 4th Gen 4 Runner same goes for the sliders. They do have Prado parts which can be adapted but the would be something you would have to do. Not good news. I will post more if anything changes.
