4th Gen AC question

So my mom just got an 06' 4Runner and whenever we start the vehicle, the air is always set for inside air. We hit the button to outside air when driving and when we turn off the car, but everytime we turn it back on it's inside air again.

Is there a way to set it to come on with outside air everytime instead? Gracias.

nope it's just one of those qwerks.... actually it has something to do w/ the outside temp vs inside temp. depending on what you have your inside temp to, it'll decide whether or not it should be recirc or fresh... whack i say but whatever.

I fight with that recirc button many times a day. My bigger pet peeve is that the HVAC system seems to heat of the fresh air up no matter what setting I'm on, unless the A/C is actually turned on to cool it down. So it will be a balmy 65 degres outside, but I gotta turn on my A/C because that 65 degree air is coming thru at 70+ degrees. I've never used the A/C on a vehicle as much as I do this one. The 4th gens are nice, but in some areas they're a little too automated.
