Measurements of 4th Gen
Does anyone know of the measurements of the rear of a 4th Gen Runner?
The body width, wheel base width, frame width, and distance from back of frame to back of body, width of the door, and so on. (or any measurements that you have) I have an idea for a rear bumper for the runner, but I dont have mine till friday so i wanted to work on my ideas. Thanks

I'd give you measurements but the only measurement I can give you is the width of the frame but that requires me going under my dirty 4r
The rest I can't do as I cut off the tail of the frame where the bumper was so you're gonna have to ask someone else. Let me know as I can try to get some measurements for you. I'd have to look for my tape measure though somewhere first.
The best way to build would be using cardboard boxes. I did all of my design by cardboard first and then used that template to cut the sheetmetal. I rarely used my tape measure to figure out stuff as I just worked on one side and just flipped the cardboard to cut the otherside out. (keeps it uniform that way). It's a PITA but seems to be the best way as you can do all of the visuals with the cardboard. Btw, make sure you have LOTS of cardboard as I went through 6 versions before finalizing my template.

Hey Lance, when you cut off the tail, did one of the cross members go along with it, allowing you to stuff a larger spare down there?

The last cross member is what I cut off. This actually sits right at the bumper and was the biggest thing that was in the way of my departure angle. The new bumper is tucked close to the body and therefore trying to add a spare down there is now impossible (unless I get those cool 205/40/15's! hehe).
It was a big sacrifice but then again I did cut that thing off in a hurry
