05 Taco glove box will not open... help
#1
So, I had an annoying glove box rattle at the lever so I went to the dealer and bought a new one and replaced it ($20)... no more rattle. Problem is that now after a while I tried to open the glove box... not working. There is a metal actuator rod that connects the lever to the latch and it has obviously come loose inside.
Has anyone else dealt with this and if so, how do you open the glove box or get at this to fix it???
Thanks in advance!

Re-visiting this with the answer: a big hole saw, cut my way into the face of the glovebox (careful) so I could get my hand and a stubby phillips in there... reach the two screws that hold the latch together on the inside and presto! Latch comes off, old glovebox in the trash and new/used glovebox goes in.
Messy, brutal, but it worked

I was going to suggest a hammer... but I suppose that works too, lol
I beat the glove box into submission in a VW Jetta last week at work to get it open... good stress relief
only downside was that it was a VW so it only took 2 good whacks and it shattered, LOL
I've had no issues with the latch on my 06, however that stupid slower-downer detent spring loaded thingy on the right is about the stupidest thing ever... mine found it's way into the trash about a week after I got the truck...
