I know there was a thread on this a little while back but it spiraled into sophistry.

i would be courios too. I have the springs lying on my work bench ready to go in. I too don't have a welder and need to do this badly.

It looks like it could work.

I'd think that leaving another inch or so on the upper mount would add some safety and security to the upper coil mounting area.

That does look like a really simple install.
