"Zuk" Spring Mod With No Welding or Bolting

http://gearinstalls.com/weldless.htm

Who is running this? Any problems?

I know there was a thread on this a little while back but it spiraled into sophistry.

Cliff cut off most of the mount but I wonder if another inch or 2 was retained, if the coil would slide in even better...and if not, if a couple of well placed hammer blows would help. Just thinking out load.
I was also wondering if anyone did what Zuk suggested here and retained another inch or two of the mount.

i would be courios too. I have the springs lying on my work bench ready to go in. I too don't have a welder and need to do this badly.

It looks like it could work.

I'd think that leaving another inch or so on the upper mount would add some safety and security to the upper coil mounting area.

That does look like a really simple install.

Does anyone have an actual number for how much is ideal to cut from the top frame mount to properly seat the spring?

Although I don't know how long the upper mount is I'd say leave about 1.5" and adjust it with a BFH to fit.

I can't believe my thread had 96 replies. Is that the one that I started about the Zuk mod install? I can't seem to find it anymore.
