yet another power window problem....89 4runner

So, none of my windows will work on my 4runner. The rear window and driver's side stuck down, passenger stuck up. Pulled the door control from the passenger side and parts of it look pretty fried. Considering they don't make them anymore, I tried fixing the circuit board, but no love. The door locks work, but nothing at all to the windows. They all seemed to have stopped working at the same time. Anyone, help. This is getting really annoying.

First things first:
Got a multi-meter?
Before you "fixed" the circuit board, what was broken on it?
Did you check that you had power going to the circuit board?
How did you know which points to check? Did you have a schematic?
Then, did you check your motors by connecting directly to battery?
