Exclamation How to remove side vent windows from 83 pickup truck?

I want to remove the side vent windows and the rubber gasket around them so I can repaint the front cab of my 83 pickup. Does anyone know how to do that? I googled it and checked youtube and couldn't find anything.
Thanks!

It was easier for me to leave the vent windows in the frame and remove it as one piece. With the panel off there will be a guide running from the top of the door to near the bottom. Iirc there is one bolt at the bottom. I did remove the large glass first

Thanks for replying.

How did you get the window out at the bottom? You can see in the image below that I removed the top screw that holds the window but how do you remove the window from the frame at the bottom? I tried pulling the window up but it's still stuck at the bottom.

Here is the part that the bolt needs to be removed. It will all come out as one unit

That photo helps a lot because I didn't realize the frame had that long leg that goes down into the door.

1) I took off the bolt that holds the bottom of the frame but how do I pull the frame out? Do I have to take the big roll-up window out first?

2) Will it be obvious how to remove the little vent glass window from the frame when I take the frame out? Is that a bolt under the glass where it pivots?

Thanks again.

I did pull the full windows out first. There are also a couple small screws that hold the top or front angle of the vent window subframe, and then you should be able to pull it.

You may be able to snake it out of there with the big glass still in but if your painting, its better off to just strip the entire door. Dewstrips, mouldings etc.

THANKS MAN! I got it out and these are the steps...

1) Take the rubber trim off that's on each side of the roll-up window.

2) Pull off the door roll-up handle from the inside and the panel.

3) Take off the bolt that's at the bottom of the vent window frame.

4) Remove the roll-up window. You will need to tilt it on its side to pull it out.

Thanks again because posting those photos really helped!

P.S. If you have suggestions for how to remove dried paint and stains from the rubber gasket material then please comment here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f114.../#post52359758

By the way, here's an ingenious and super easy way to remove the window roll-up crank thingee that totally works...

For the window crank removal, the rag trick is in the service manual, been known atleast since the 80s, but mechanics always try to get it with a screw driver lol. FYI, the Toyota window cracks in these trucks have a white plastic part with a pretty thick ridge that the clip likes to hang up on. I just take a rag, pull the clip side to side till I see it on the ridge, then pull it out with the screw driver the rest of the way.

When I'm stripping rotted out doors, I pull the window track seal, the two bolts for the regulator, crank it down all the way and slip the window out of the tracks towards the outer door skin and remove the vent window, then main window glass. That's with the door off though.Seems the track/frame would be a bit of a pain to remove the main window first, never bothered trying though lol. Installing works well in reverse too.
