Wrong rear end

3rd member was going out so my mechanic got a junk yard one and put the whole rear end in . Next thing i knew my speedo was way off but never really worried about it. Next was a new trans and everything just seemed to struggle well i finally made him look more into it and found out my runner came stock with 4:56's and the rear end he got had the 4:10's. which would explain why the new trans never had the power it should have! Thankfully he is a good guy and is putting a new one in tomorrow.

At least you found the problem... He wasn't the guy that found you Asian hubs too, was it? well, at least it will feel like a performance upgrade when you are done.

Especially now that I just saw you have the Guard dog m/t's. Heavy bastards.

Did you drive it around in 4 wheel drive with the mismatched diffs at all? Thats pretty tough on the drivetrain.

Sweet! I'm sure that was a happy moment driving it home.

So what's next?

Just when you think everything is fixed and going good:! Jumped on the highway today and to do 70 i was pushing 3500 rpms in a auto.. Needless to say after 70 miles poof white smoke and trans fluid everywhere! I have been trying to tell the mech there was something not right with it since he put it in. He even sent it to Amcrook the other day and they said it was fine.. News flash it's not. Well some how the great truck made the drive home just a lot slower and it has another trans on the way for tuesday. Hope this fix's it being we are getting ready to drive it to CA

You should get the mechanic to install the front 4.56 diffs so you can run bigger tires...
