Windshield wiper nozzle clogged?

Hi All,

Just curious if this is a defective design? My windshield fluid stream pumps to about 1/8th of the windshield at the bottom. Is the spray supposed to hit the entire windshield like other vehicles? I find myself timing the spray by waiting until the wipers reach bottom and picking up a minuscule amount of fluid. Nothing obvious is wrong with it, I may try and shoot some pressurized air through an inlet and see if there is a clog. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

Mine easily reaches the top of the glass.

clearing with pressurized air might be a good idea (pressurized water might be even better if you could figure out how to hook it up.) Be careful trying to clean the nozzle with something like a wire; if you open it up too much it's worthless as a nozzle.

I would lean more toward your pump being tired and old.

Have you replaced it since you have the vehicle??

Hey guys,
Thanks for the input, Apparently when I installed a battery 1/3 size larger than the original it kinked the hose near the inner fender. I removed it and blew air, busted a hole in the kinked section immediately, but I was running inordinately high pressure as well (120), oops. Anyway, I found an old coupler, cut the hose at the kink and now it shoots! It's still pretty weak, but substantially improved.
