Smile will this work??

I bought a 84 tall block 22r rebuilt for my 86 4runner trouble is it was done with flat pistons...so they don't go to the top of the bore..about 3mm or so from the top.I'm not looking for a dragster but I require it to get up hills without me having to get out and push.Does anybody know if this will work?Anyone tried this?I knew it was cheap for a reason. Will it be ok or is it landfill?

i dont get it?

are you trying to mate a 84 block with a 86 head ?

or is the motor built and you have it apart and seeing this piston problem

or you are rebuilding it with flat pistons

please specify

I bought this block as it is. the guy i got it from thought it was a standard 85-up 22r so he put the shorter pistons in it.But in reality it's a 84 tall 22r.

So it doesnt run and has never been ran has the head off it, was being rebuilt by some dude then half way he gave up and sold it to you?

ok so I dont think it will work and i wouldnt waste time & money gambling with the wrong size pistons, pull out the pistons and start over with the correct pistons.
