Will not start...turns but doesnt start

1990 toyota 4runner, v6 3.0 209k miles.

been browsing the site alot and still cant get any answers.

The SUV was running fine...a little sluggish but in my eyes fine. Brother decided to start tinkering and pulled the coil pack on the left fender...the plug on it.

when he did that the truck died.

now it wont restart. turns over it but will not run. There is fuel present at the rail, air flow is fine as the valve turns and makes noise.

I have power to the plug that attaches to the coil, replaced teh ignitor and coil. still nothing. all fuses check out, MAF is fine like i said. tried to see if there was any spark to the dist but there is NOT. hooked up a light meter attempting to see if there was any power from the lead wire to the dist. cap and no light but that doesnt mean no power...right?

I figure it has to be something with either the dist. which looks fine, coil or ignitor but i replaced them both....

any ideas?

sorry for all the text just laying out what I have already done.

thanks guys, hope we get it running

Also, check to see if there are any codes.

It sounds a lot like you've blown your 80 amp fuse...passenger side fuse box. DO NOT try to pull it out. You have to remove the box from the fender well then take out the bolt holding it in from the bottom.

would it even attempt to turn if that was blown?

I had to replace it about a month ago...the 4runner wouldnt even turnover without it.

I'll go look back through all the fuses but I dont think it would even turn if that was blown, right?

the engine light is not on nor blinking so i dont know how to get the code

went and checked every fuse...all good. tried cranking and no start.

HOWEVER

I then proceeded to tap every object with a screwdriver...tried to crank and now its FINALLY getting fire but it wont start and run...seems like its either bad timing or out of sequence...i can def tell its getting fire though.

whats my new step? is it the timing?

vfm connector

Does it just crank and spin? My own trouble was a loose connection to the Vane air flow meter.
