Why does my 86 Ex cab have a defroster switch?

I'm trying to figure out exactly what this switch operates. It's right beside the driver's door, which I believe is the factory location. It lights up when I turn it on, but I can't imagine what it's defrosting.

The back window certainly doesn't have a heating element on it, and I see no sort of forced air vents anywhere around the back windows (rear, or side)

I had some snow a few weeks ago, so I flicked the switch on, and noticed nothing different. Is this switch actually hooked up to anything in the pickup trucks? Is this switch supposed to be in the truck. or did someone maybe just put it there?

Random off-topic point, glass sunroof sucks in the cold. All it does is condense, and drip all over me :p

One of two things:

A. Someone has added that switch (not sure why though)

B. Someone has removed the heated back glass you used to have, and replaced it with a slider. The heated back glass was non-sliding.

oh that explains it!

I do have a sliding window in the back. It must not be factory.

I found the only time I got condensation from my sunroof was when I had my heater on re-circ for more then a few hours... If I left it on that setting for a few days I would get ice on the inside of my windows!!

I thought the winter hit early here in NY. You got snow a couple weeks ago? Well I'll surrender my right to complain about early winters to you sir.

My truck is about to go through its first winter so i'll see how my sunroof holds up.

Just a funny side note along these lines. I was tearing my cluster out the other day trying to figure out if one of my gauges was jacked up. I noticed I have a "Rear Hatch" light on the left side, and it had a light bulb in the socket. I own a pickup. I thought it was pretty funny.

I have the same switch, I pushed it and was immediately thrust out thru the roof. that sucked.
