Who wants to finally see homemade hoodscoop?
#21
Thanks X-AWDriver I was wondering why.travis h I would definately fold and crip the back edge but I dont know if you would need the bead down the middle, aside from asteti reasona cuz it would look good. The wind resistance would be way less for a cowl scoop.I made a few mock ups with some flat cardboard not the corrugated kind.Once I was happy with what I had I made precise measurments then transfered those to the metal.I pretty much bent it all by hand except for the leading edge crimp and the fastening rivet edge. For those I used a pair if vinyl siding hand coil stock bender.Ive been roofing andsidind for 30 years so all the trim edge metal bending Iv done came in handy.hey aa1911 look around on craigslist or ebay for a spare hood for your project so you wont destroy your stock hood thats what I did. Then youll have it ready for your swap or just to install at your leisure. Was a lot of fun but lots of sanding sanding sanding sand........
