When would you recommend a steering stabilizer

I'm now running 33x12.5 on my 95' runner, and i've been debating if I should upgrade my steering stabilizer from stock to something like OME or Skyjacker sells. What do you guys think?

Deinitely upgrade, it will help a little with your steering components life span. I have the Pro-Comp one from 4wheelparts and like it.

I'm also looking at one. Haven't decided what exactly to do yet, but I definately think it will help even if you just go with a stock one because it wont have the mileage and wear on it.

I think I'm probably going to go with the OME stabilizer.

Most of my components are shot, probably due in part to my lack of an effective stabilizer (stock) and 35's. It's too late for me, but I be gettin' one anyway, hopefully lengthen the life of what's left. I know that it is recommended for 35's and up, but unless every minute weight gain bothers ya, your gonna be better off with a good one, AM.

The stock stabilizer is joke. You should definitely get a real one. I upgraded to the procomp stabilizer.

DO IT.. I upgraded mine to an OME one even when I was still on 31's and it made a world of difference when wheeling. It will even drive smoother on the pavement. I did a write up that is in the tech section for the OME one with part #'s and stuff. It's only like $60 or so.

On a daily driven truck a steering stabilizer provides a noticeable difference...on a dedicated trail rig...waste of money.

I have them, just not on the website currently.

Steering Stabilizer Kit: $79 plus shipping

4WP is having a deal on Pro Comp shocks right now. $150 bucks for all four and a stablizer. I dont think it comes with the brackets you need though!

Is a steering stabilizer something that is very easy to install yourself?

Thumbs up steering stabilizer

Go for it. I run a pro comp stabilizer and a Rancho shock to replace the junk stock one ,It makes alot of difference now with no wheel wobble running luggy 38's swampers

I have the OME on my 1995 4x4. It is a direct bolt up fit not alterations. Very simple install and performs well.

Thats good to know. I have noticed my truck is eating idler arms for lunch. I've gone though 2 in the last year, Duralast lifetime warranty has saved me about 70 bucks. I'll upgrade soon.
