Question When in low range if I shift to second the shifters rub

86 22r with 3inch body lift. When I am in low range and I go to shift into second it will hit the tcase shifter and knock it out of low range. We extended the tranny shifter and they still hit. What solutions have been used to remedy this situation?

transmission shifter on backwards perhaps?
or, you can take it out and bend it.

WORN OUT SHIFTER BUSHING!!!

lol

and i've been told that it's bad to be in ANY gear except 1st and reverse while in 4lo...

but my friends and I regularly wheel in 4lo and 2nd gear...sometime even 3rd or 4th..it turns our M/t's a LOT better than 4hi..lol

same, i stay in 2nd when in 4lo, too.
1st is just too slow, especially when trying to climb sandy hills.
and 4high 1st is too little torque

all the theories of when to use 4 low or 4 hi don't solve the shifter hitting the tc level,

dog leg your TC shifter, either by cutting and welding (what I did) or heat and bend.

remove the shifter first, do not attempt to tweak it while in the truck or you will be up poop creek

when i did my 3 inch body lift i didnt bother to extend the shifters all i did was bend it forward and to the left a bit then turned the shifter plate 180 degrees and grinded it so i can use 4 low

I use all my gears in 4lo. That's bullsnizzle. Why else would people brag about having 24 speeds with dual cases?

I had to heat and bend my shifter to clear the t-case shifter.

Easy stuff, that and flipping the inner shifter boot gave me clearance for everything.

wrong trans shifter

my truck did the same thing, apparently at some point someone swapped trans and used the stick from whatever trans they had gotten and wouldnt clear t/c shifter in second. i found the correct shifter for the trans which had a factory bend in it to fit past the t/c shifter. may check may not be the right trans shifter for ur ride.
