Wheeling with canopy?

I am the second owner of my truck. When I bought it it came with a canopy. I took the canopy off the first week I had the truck and havent put it on since. I think that it will finally come in handy for camping and also putting some extra weight on the rear end. How will having it affect my fourwheeling performace. I do go on trails rated difficult for class II and many folks break their running gear, I also go wheeling in the snow and mud year round.

it wont have nay affect on running gear breaking. only difference might be that it will feel top heavy in off camber situations.

i run a high rise canopy... sure you have to watch your lines... but staying warm and dry in winter is nice.

I have 5 canopy mounting brackets, will this be enough to hold it on while wheeling?

canopy...like a cap? or a soft top? I wheeled with a cap for a long time. My only complaint would be the lack of visibility when backing down a tight trail. But i there there great. Kept all my gear nice and dry and free of mud.

a cap, it has a metal storage rack mounted on it. Im sure that the rack weighs more than the canopy

Mine also had a rack on it. I would run into branches and other stuff with out even flinching. Never ripped the rack off or moved the cap. The cap was mounted to the bed in all 4 corners. The only reason im not running it now is because I bobed the bed and cap but it looked funny, so I opted to get rid of the cap. Plus its nice in the winter, never have to shovel the bed out and its always dry and snow free form winter hauling

side shot for height reference.

My only problem now is some parking garages have rafters/plumping that is too low.
