wheel size on an 89 runner

can anyone tell me what the width of the wheels are on an 89 runner? i have a craked rim and need new tires so i am just going to get some new wheels and tires, i have seen some 4runners and yota pickups with the same size tires as the ones on my 4runner ( 31x10.5x15 ) but they look a lot taller than mine for some reason, most shops are saying that i need a 15x8 wheel, im guessing mine may be a bit wider thats why they look wider than the other trucks i have seen, not sure if that makes sense, but hopefully someone can give me a helping hand

thanks

with 31x10.5s i'd recommend a 7" rim, not an 8" one. if you've got aluminum wheels it's 15x7, stock steelies were 15x6.

yeah they are the aluminum ones with the fake rivets in them that fall off, any reason you would recomend the 7" over the 8"?

8 would be safer for not 'crowning the tire' but i have 7s and have no problem with the same size tire. i had 15x8s on a 9.5 and had no problems as well. and before i swapped rims i had 15x10s on a 10.5 so its really not nessary if your not going to air down to 10psi.
