Whats my runner worth?

So I recently bought a 1994 4runner automatic with 4 wheel drive. I fixed all the things that were wrong with it like valve cover gaskets, leaky power steering pump, and some damage to the front bumper. I also put on some 31/10.5/15 yokahama all terrains with 95% tread. Took off the running boards and it look real nice. It has 4.88 gears and no rust and is really clean interior and exterior. Has 150,000 miles on it and head gasket were done at 130,000. It runs great with no real mechanical problems. Theres only one thing wrong, i want a 3rd gen runner . So im hoping to put this one back up for sale and buy a 3rd gen with e-locker. Can I get 4k out of this 4runner? I think I can find a decent 3rd gen for 4k. Should i do it. I think the gas milege/reliability of the 3rd gen would pay for itself.

Well what does KBB say? Start there.

I saw a 94 runner for sale, private seller. They were asking $4300, the reason it was so high was because it only had 100K miles on it, it was fully loaded too.

But start at KBB.

KBB says $3960 for it with all the options and in "good" condition. I think i can get 4k for it. What is a salvage title? I found a 1997 black 4runner with a little over 100k on it with nothing wrong for $3750. It says it was in an accident but all damge was fixed.

Yea and if you did all that work to it, probably $4500 or higher.

Remember, start high and go low, then set a price you wont go lower then.

a salvage title is where the car is totaled by an insurence company then bought by someone

it doesnt really make a difference, except you usualy can only get the comprehensive insurence

Where are you located? Up here it might go for $4000, but 100mi south, and it wouldn't sell at $3000.

salvage title around here basically halves the KBB quote... so it would only be worth $2100-$2600...

Im located in Michigan but the runner was brought here from California in 2005 so thats why theres no rust. Is it bad to by a salvage title car? I only get basic insurance anyways.

the only thing bad about a salvage title is that no matter how nice you make it, the value by the insurence company will say the same
