What is the switch signal on the CEL chart?

On my 86 Toyota 4x4 2.4 EFI 5 speed my CEL shows code 11.What and where is the switch signal that's mentioned?http://www.troublecodes.net/toyota/..the truck starts and idles fine but seems to surge or hesitate under throttle till it's been on the road for a few minute, then runs good..The mileage has gotten worse.I drive mostly in a small town.Any info would be helpful.

Hey There,
I think that code 11 is the TPS, Autozone has a list of the codes as well:
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/rep...00c1528004d5fb

With a code 11 I would suspect something fuel related if you shoot the TPS and it tests within spec.

Does it only falter under load? What does it do if you stomp on it? If it gets choked out, your injectors may be dripping more than spraying. This would also cause a drop in mpg.

What were your mpgs before/after?

It's probably the same as code 51 on the newer models:
"Displayed when A/C is ON, IDL contact OFF or
shift position in “R”, “D”, ”2”, or ”L” positions
with the DLC1 terminals E1 and TE1 connected"

Checked and wiggled wires and vacuum lines and while doing this I noticed that one clip was off the air filter box.Having messed up hands from pinched nerves in my elbows it took me twenty minutes to get that little clip by the headlight back in it's right place. Then I unplugged the A/C button switch and wire behind the glove box and now have a good running vehicle. No code 11 and code 4 anymore or CEL light that would blink now and then at it's own whim. The A/C button/switch I had bought online a year ago and never did work properly as it didn't light up and the A/C in this old Toyota truck was a put together piece of crap having the A/C amp board nonsense.Never did get real cold or work correctly.Anyway hope it stays this way and my mpg's have also improved.Don't know if there was an air leak into the throttle body through the air filter box or a loose wire or vacuum hose. Thanks for the replies
