I have an 87/88 4x4 EFI.
This morning it wouldn't start, I would hear the starter trying to kick in, but it would not turn. I'm Pricing a starter out and different years have different prices. Im looking at the 4x4 1.4kw

just want to know what year starter i could use, save me some money here

Likely just worn contacts inside the starter solenoid. Best advice is to repair what you have and avoid replacing it:

i had this problem not to long ago. turns out it was just bad battery connection. bought new terminals for 5$ or so at autozone and i havent had problem since.

make sure u check everything first and if it still wont turn, trying taking it off and testing it before you spend more money then you have to.

hitting it with something sometimes works too
