What is this part? First-Gen 4Runner

Hi guys,
Perhaps we can make this a centralized thread for asking what those mysterious looking parts are on the first-gen 4Runner / 2nd-gen pickups?
Please post clear pictures and description - location, color of parts, color of wires leading to it, what happens if and when part is removed, etc...
Special request, when part is finally identified, please add complete "official name to original title to help with future searches.

What is this orange connector-looking part in left rear body panel?

(Edited the IMG urls)
I'll start...
Emergency Whistle?
What is this orange part in left rear body panel? Looks like a connector that is not used and is capped. It is IN the wiring harness in left side rear body panel, just between the top off switch and the jack storage.

No known issue with it. I just found it while cleaning harness run.

By the time I get to that emergency whistle, I would have drowned or succumbed to hypothermia - LOL!

Thanks, guys for the feedback. Somehow pics show up on my Chrome browser on Mac Air. This must have something to do with Google Photos compatibility with Yotatech code.
It happens once in awhile but never happened on T4R.org It would be nice to understand what's going one. I want to dedicated this thread to parts query so I'll post tests/troubleshooting/ideas on a separate relevant thread "Images Not Showing Up" that started after Greedybucket fiasco.
