Can someone please tell me what the name of the part I am pointing too in the picture is?



It has 3 spots for a vacuum line to come off at 2 of which have a hose on them and the third one does not. I can't find another spot where there is a missing vacuum line so I don't know. I tried looking at my Vac line diagram and since I don't know the name of the part its hard to tell I took a pic of the diagram too (kinda blurry) but its the basic diagram for a 93 22re 5 speed.



More to the point the spot on the part I'm pointing too that does not have a vac line is sucking in air and I have a mild idle surge (up n down) once my truck is warmed up, of course this is made worse when the brake is depressed. All help is greatly appreciated.

 

cap it and see if that helps until someone more experienced here helps you out.

 

It's just a vacuum port. One line goes to the VSV for the PAIR valve. The other goes to the VSV for the fuel pressure regulator.

I seen people that mess with their vacuum line put the EGR on that port too. However, the EGR is actually coming off of the ports at the throttle body.

I only have two vacuum line coming off of mine. I think your good.

 

It needs to be capped.

 

When I cover it up with my finger the idle drops a decent amount. What do you recommend capping it off with? I'd prefer something I can remove if it doesn't work out.

 

The third port is usually shared between the ADD (for 4wd) and cruise control. If you have neither, you don't need it.

I do have 4wd but do not have cruise control? So it should be hooked up to something? I don't remember it ever having 3 hoses but that doesn't mean anything.

 

Do you have ADD (Automatic Differential Disconnect)? If you don't know, you DO need to spend a bit of time roaming around this site, to familiarize yourself with your vehicle.

Meanwhile, cap off that port. You may have working ADD but some hack decided to get the vacuum from someplace else. Or your ADD is always engaged (okay if you have locking hubs, not so good otherwise). No matter what, that vacuum port shouldn't be open; as you've already discovered it raises the idle and leans the mixture.

 

The top most port goes to the large black canister on the fire wall (a long hose). The rear most one goes down and connects to one of the metal tubes next to the cam cover. The forward most one goes to the plate on the cam cover next to the blue electrical connector.

Look at the diagram on the hood closely it's all there.
