weird stuttering/jolting at low rpm's

This just recently started happening. When I shift gears a little early and expecially up hills I get a few big jolts at about 1500 rpm's. It is different then shifting early and getting the shakes, this is a major series of jolts. It goes away shortly after 1500 rpms. It feels more like the tranny is slipping again and again, or a cylinder not firing or something like that. At any rate it never did it before.
I do have a squeal coming from my clutch/tranny that my mechanic told me was my throw bearing needing lube, so I hope that is what is causing my jolts.

Anyone have any idea as to what is happening?

Motor Stuttering /Jolting

Sounds fishy , if its not the motor then maybe you have a drivetrain problem , driveshaft center bearing , u-joint maybe , could be alot of things , need to try and find if it is your drive train or motor somehow

Would low transmission fluid cause anything like that?

Is your engine revving higher when it jolts? If so, then it may be the tranny.

Yes it could , dirty/stopped trans filter too but it would tend to do it when you accelerated more so picking pressure back up

Hmmm. The engine doesent rev up when it happens, so guess the trannys out then ? It doesent rev at all, it is more like it wants to stall for like half a second then you get the jolt, then it accelerates with that jolt for about a second, and repeats with the stall. The jolting gets gradually weaker as I approach 1500 rpm's then is gone and engine runs fine, but at 1000 - 1200 rpm range it is very noticable and has me concerned now. It used to be able to chug along during a early with relative ease, but now I have to shift higher and give it more gas then regular to get it to stop doing that.

You need to test your emissions and check for vacumn leaks , make sure throttle body is clean , ignition no leaks in wires to grounds , no tracing on cap or rotor , test TPS and MAF/VAFM , EGR and of course timing , check plugs for color and burn , as you pull the plugs do a compression test (record your pressures and # cyl .
Do all that and rule out the motor , compression will show bad HG or Burn't / cracked / broken valve as well .
Rule out the motor then look to your tranny .

Just for grins and giggles , you have a '93 4 banger so a shot in the dark because I am not familiar with the 4 cyl....................... do you have a flexable air intake tube/hose on that motor going from airbox to throttle body ??
And if so have you checked it to see if it has any cracks in it or loose clamp , Idle the truck and if you have one open the hood while running and squeeze the Intake Air Tube all over and see if the motor stumbles or stalls , I have seen this before as well from that problem , just something real simple it could also be ........rule out the motor hehe
If that is bad then when you torque the motor it will run like crap and sometimes not recover very well .
