weird problem

another thing to consider is the impedance of the injectors.
there are two basic types of injectors, low impedance and high impedance, a.k.a. "peak and hold" and "saturated", respectively. a "peak and hold" ECU can power "saturated" injectors, but not the other-way-'round. mixing or using the wrong injector type can fry the ecu, thus the different plugs on the injectors and harness to prevent the wrong one being installed.
measure the resistance across the terminals in your fuel injectors and make sure you get new injectors with the same resistance. that doesn't mean you won't still have a problem with them, but it dramatically reduces the likelyhood of a problem.
