weird E brake problem

my ebrakes pretty destroyed or messed up i guess. When i got it used it worked fine but now it seems to be messed up.At first the e brake light would stay on and i would have to push it in really hard to get it to turn off sometimes it wouldnt even go in all the way. Last night when i was driving I came to a stop and pulled the E brake out it didnt seem to have any resistance and came out really fast and the black bar attached to the e brake extended reallyyyyyyyyy far anyone have any ideas

Like Elton said they probably just need to be adjusted.

But also check your brake fluid level. That warning light comes on if the fluid is low... as well as to remind you about the parking brake.

yeah sounds like the cables trashed, or in serious need of adjustment. The light might just be a sensor adjustment too. Do a search on the ebrake sensor adjustment to findout how to adjust it.
