hey guys, i just sold my '84 pickup truck, so now the only truck i have left is the '95 4runner. its stock right now, but i'd like to do some suspension stuff. the rear of the truck is lower than the front, i dunno if its because the suspension has so many miles (226k) and the springs are just worn out or what.

anyways, i want to replace all the ball joints, shocks, and possibly do a small suspension lift, like 3" max. i'm running some 30" yoko geolander tires right now, but i wouldn't mind upgrading to some 32's or something. i don't want to go too big cause i still want decent gas mileage.

any help is appriciated.

search some more... you'll find that all 4runners sag after a while. as for suspension you can do ball joint spacers, t'bar crank, suspension lift etc etc. you'll find alot on here

The rear sags because its a 4runner.. thats the MO for runners until 03, where they ride nose low now

As far as susp upgrades, at what your talking about I would install BJ spacers from 4crawler.com, a set of manual hubs to help mpg and CV life, espically with BJ spacers, and a set of rear OME springs. The shocks you choose are your call, but OME will probally be the best.

As far as tires, unless you do a bracket lift, body lift, trim, or make your bumpstops larger you will not have any more clearane for tires than you do right now.. But you can usually fit a 32x10.50, 32x11.50, or 33x10.50 with out rubbing, and some fit 33x12.50 with only minor rubbing. The BJ spacers will take some of the rubbing you would get at stock height away, but they return when you compress the suspensin, like on a speed bump while turning or offroad, but for 90% of the time you have "more" room...

What motor/trans do you have?

I recommend:
-Downey HD coils for the rear
-Torsion bar crank to level it out
-Bilstein shocks

This will give you about 1.5" of lift. It will give the truck a very 'sporty' feel. You'll have increased control on corners as well as washboard type dirt roads.

go with this for about a 2" lift(the ome coils are a half inch taller than downey's and are made for towing/heavy loads)

I recommend 33x10.50 with NO lift. Spend the money on stuff that will help more without the downsides, such as armor and/or lockers.

I did 2 1/2 ome's and cranked my tortions, I haven't had any problems related to either. WIth the OME's and the tortions cranke, my rig is perfectl level. I have a 90 4runner!

I ran with Downey coils and nothing up front for 2 years, then installed BJ spacers, an All-Pro idler arm brace, and Cruiser coils. I ran that setup for another 2 years....never broke anything in the front, and only had to replace my cv boots once.

My IFS finally was laid to rest after my upper contol arm bushings had enough of my abuse.
