Yea I'm at the coast vacationing so I'll rip it apart this weekend when we get back I'm almost positive that it's the front case input shaft so I have an extra thank goodness and yea luckily I wasn't very far from town so the lady brought out the new taco and pulled me home.

I am curious to know what happened, I know the stock 2.28's are the weak link in a dual case setup but I didn't think they were that weak.

i just ripped it out of the and I'm pretty sure still that it's the 2.28 shaft but not 100% but the tranny is working right it's just wowed when I spin the 2.28 shaft it spins inside like it should but it doesn't send power to the rear case and spin it but when I spin the rear case it works right well I don't think it spun the front shaft tho

I didn't have to trailer it this time but luckily I have a trailer and the new Tacoma works really well as a toe rig! Infact I'm going to pickup a bed with the trailer today for another project I'm working on

Ok so I ripped it all apart it was the front put shaft in the rear case so it's undefr warrenty from trail gear since that's my 4.7's. So got everything shipped out today and depending on how much a 23 spline coupler is if I can get it separate that's the route I'll go if not I'll just keep the 21's

Yea I was checking out ur build the other day coming song nicely and ull love wheeling with 4.7s but it sucks to reverse. And I don't think ull have a problem until you go to Duals.

Thanks, man that is gnarly, so were you getting on it or just accelerating normally? I am planning on going duals one day, it just sucks I didn't have the cash all at once to do 23 splines at the same time.

I know what ya mean and I was just cruising in my front case which I think stressed that shaft too much I was maybe at 2500-3000 rpms. What are u doing memorial day weekend I think I'm gunna try and go down to browns camp and do some wheeling and eat the little rubi for redemption lol!

Not sure yet, I go to school on Saturday mornings and the college wont be closed until Monday, but it is only about half an hour from me so if you do go I might be able to meet you out there after my class is out. I would love to have a front row seat to watchin your rig take on the little rubicon again.

So I talked with my brother in laws and we made a plan to go to Brown's camp on memorial day weekend, I am going to go there Thursday and try to find an open campsite and one of my brother in law's is going to come down that night, he isn't bringing his Yota, he said he is going to try and wheel his Dodge crew cab on 37's, but maybe we should get a thread started to see if anyone else wants to come.

The issue is you should never wheel with only the crawl box engaged when you only have a 21 spline rear case. The weak link is the 21 spline input at this point and I see it happen A LOT.
