Valve clacking

Hi, my 94 Toyota pickup, I had to change my rocker assy and camshaft from an 89 22re, but every time I turn the engine by hand, a banging sound arises like if there were clearance issues, have no idea what it is or how to fix it? Any ideas ?

pull the valve cover, rotate the engine is the sound gone, if so you have contact there.. Inspect the valve cover gasket is it soft and plump, how about your valve cover grommets, if they are hard or flat you might want to start there.

Clean the bottom side of the valve cover, look for interference marks, don't see any add some marking paint or dabs of grease on the rocker arms, rotate the engine over and look for transfer marks.

i did but still doing it, I turned it over and the valve spring was stuck compressed, does that have anything to do with it ?

You did what?

Yes that's bad news, bent valve or another serious issue. With any luck it's just the valve, but be aware that noise you hear is possibly the piston coming into contact with the open valve.
