vacuum line on 92 3.0L 3vze

So I just put my truck back together after a valve job, very exciting, and replaced my U-joints, also very exciting. However, now my AC doesn't work, it blows but not cool, and its doing this weird low idle then die thing.

So, I noticed that my cruise control vacuum line was not plugged in at all, so I looked at this diagram
http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...74layoutan.pdf
and noticed that that hose possibly goes into the intake manifold. To do this I had to remove the small line that used to run from the charcoal canister, but now that valve is supposed to go into the BVSV or the TVV, depending on the diagram you look at. However, according to both diagrams (the one I linked and the one in the Haynes manual), in the location that valve should be, I do not have that valve, or a screw-in where one could be???

So.... one of the hoses, not sure which, was totally clogged so I replaced it. I did not replace the other hoses as I intended b/c they were slightly smaller than the size I bought at NAPA. But hopefully the AC is fixed if all this hose work turns out. My main question is about the BVSV/TVV valve and where it could be or where I connect the charcoal canister hose and if I should have connected my cruise control hose into the intake vacuum port??????

Thanks every one!

Vacuum lines on this engine are a mess. I had to color-coat and take photos of each line before I did the valve adjustment on my truck or there's no way I'd remember how to put it back together. Hope these help.

gamefreak, nice diagram. I put mine back together the way it was but after looking at diagrams I noticed it was not how the diagrams were. My question to you is, the T in the top of the photo its a white label, one section comes in from the rear, is that coming in from your cruise control on the far side of the engine, and the other part of the T, is that coming from the charcoal filter?? I wish your photos showed the other section of hose where they all connect to things....

If Gamefreakgc is stock (looks like it), the Tee goes to the cruise control (toward aft) and to the ADD VSVs on the right apron.

The TVV (Thermal Vacuum Valve) or BVSV (bi-metallic vacuum switching valve, same thing) is not visible in his photos. It is under the plenum against the firewall (along with the ECT sensor and the CSI Time Switch.)

This might help:

Funny funny. I checked under the hood and found this

That is the best diagram I have found. With your tip scope103, that the bvsv valve is on the rear, I hooked up the mystery charcoal can hose to the bsvs and checked the diagram on my hood and found that I had done everything correctly.

The only thing is there was one extra port on the gas filter, so I attached the cruise control line there, I did not need a T like Gamefreaks toy. Is that ok? It seems like the cruise just needs vacuum from somewhere and that port works fine.... hopefully?

However, I hoped all this hose work would fix my AC. It did not. I'm bummed b/c its hot as hell and my AC was super cold before this valve job. I might hit it with a recharge can, but not sure what to do beyond that.... ??

To avoid issues.... When I have to pull the upper plenum, I usually just leave the vacuum lines attached, and lay the plenum over to the side... Makes for less head scratching when putting things back together

Honestly, don't bother measuring them, just take a sample of each to an auto parts store and have them size it. You can just buy bulk hosing there.

Someone once said they are all 3mm, 6mm, and 10mm but not sure how accurate that is.
