V6 Upgrades/Interchanges from 22RE
Ok, I am 90% sure that I will be buying a parts truck from a guy here in town. Its an 89 V6 4Runner SR5. I have an 89 22RE 4Runner DLX. I'm trying to get a list of parts I want to pull from it before I open it up to the masses.
So far I have:
IFS calipers, brake booster, and MC
Gauges that are broke on mine.
Possibly seats if they are nicer
Fuel level sender since mine is broke
All fuses and relays for extras
Rear window/wiper stuff that doesn't work on mine
Random interior pieces I'm missing
Possibly rear heat?
Are there any switches or common things that break that are interchangeable between the V6 and 4cyl that I should strip?
Keep your eyes open in the classifieds for all you midwest guys because after that all is fair game. Motor runs, good transmission and I'm guess good axles.

How much for rear axle housing and Axles no third member?
Or better yet how clean is the Body of it?
Call my Cell if you want 918-640-145four. Body can be stripped(minus body panels) not worried about interior too much. Looking at it for a body swap with my Second gen.

I don't have it in my possession quite yet...still have to go out and pay the guy. I just have a verbal agreement. I'll get it up in the classifieds when I pick it up and post a link here so you know when the bidding begins. The body is pretty trashed for the most part. The guy hit a median on the highway and the rears are rusted pretty bad. Looks like he tried his hand at some bondo repair and didn't quite finish. I may take the doors to make a set of half doors for mine.

I'm out on the body then as i want a straight one that is relatively clean.
But i am still interested in the housing and axles. I'm doing a leaf swap and don't want to grind my axle up because i am lazy. lol

No one knows of any other sweet things I can swap? I just found some people have retrofitted the front seat belts to get over the shoulder seat belts in the back seat.

I thought I'd read, a while ago, that the V6 radiator was bigger/better. IIRC, someone said something about swapping one for his 22RE. I got to looking at some pics of them, and they don't look/measure exactly the same. But I can't tell how easily one bolts in place of the other.
Here's what I believe I remember reading...https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...r-swap-209157/
To that I will add that I'm 99.999% sure that the V6 radiator is 3 core. And 100% sure they're not the same OEM part number as the 4 cyl. radiator.

Sweet, I'll have to look into that then! I don't know if the radiator is still in good shape because the truck was creamed in the front end but it looked like mostly fender damage.
