uneven misfire, any ideas?

so my red 4runner has had a misfire for 3-4months now. i havent done anything because i had no money. but now with my job i have some money. so i looked at all my plugs and they looked good, looked at my wires they are getting old but still good, looked at my caap and it had some build up on the points. so i ordered a new cap and rotor.

installed the cap and rotor today and still no change. swap wires from the grey runner tht runs good and still nothing, and all my injectors are pulsing properly.

the wierd thing is tht it isnt a constant mis-fire. is like an uneven one and it doesnt seem to change at higher rpms, like a regular mis would increase as the rpm's increase.

so im at a stand still.

Unplug the vacum line off your egr valve and plug it, see if that helps any.

i had problems with my fuel pump, injector, but those had slightly different symptoms. i did have that problem at one point, it turned out to be a combination of a junk MAF, and broken throttle body position sensor wires

Start with checking for vacuum leaks. Check your intake for cracks.

Hello Twisted.. I had a similiar problem. Might try making sure all of your injector connections are making good contact. If your injectors are locked down with the wire clip, the ends tend to get brittle and break off.

If you have the newer version of injector connections, with the little squeeze tab, I am not sure what it could be.
