U-joint recommendation....

Hello all,

Today I'm picking up a new u-joint for the rear driveline/diff. I have three choices for where to purchase. Toy dealer is out of the question...too expensive. So, it's O'Reilly, Auto Zone, or Napa. We'll go ahead and X AZ. But, out of the other two, who would have the better? Particular brand to look for?

FYI, I've done a search already...for about 15min., though. I am on a time crunch, so I figured I'd just ask ya'll. Thanks!

Well, it looks like my choices are limited anyway. Between GMB and Precision...which brand should I go for? This is on a DD used for hauling and towing.

Okay....is that what you use? I noticed on a google search that brand comes on Toyota, anyway...well, atleast on Tacomas it seems.

I went ahead and got the super-strength Precision from napaonline. They are not cheap, or needed, in most cases. They were strong enough to snap the yoke on my driveshaft, without breaking the joint itself.

I forget which brand I got but it was the heavy duty one from Napa. The guys at AllPhase highly recommended it for a not-super-built rig (when they would recommend CTM's...)

Mmmmm, tell the "guys at AllPhase" that CTM doesn't make a driveshaft u-joint.
I'll take two of 'em

The u-joints from CTM are axle u-joints for the D44 and D60.

Thanks so much for all the input. I went ahead and got the Precision from O'Reilly. I left for town before anyone else responded after my last post here. I'll definitely keep all opinions in mind in the future... chalk it up to knowledge base. And besides...summit racing sells Precision. It's gotta be good then, right?
