not to change the subject but i'm about to make the header decision for my 3VZE.

I'm not interested in increasing HP as much as I am interested in saving the headgaskets and not spending a fortune. I was thinking Doug Thorley (cuz Downey is no longer an option) but wondered what y'all thought. I have a CA legal Magnaflow cat & muffler.

One thing is certain: after reading TwistedToys last post I am going to spend a little more time at Pick-N-Pull, looking around...

the largest advantage gained from running a tri y header over a 4 to 1 is that they increase scaveging of exhaust gases from the cylinder which increase's your volumetric efficiency. It gives almost the same afffect as running a cross over tube on V style motors.

Better late than never.

But you are 100% correct. When it comes time I'll be picking up one of these.

oh well if headers are developed for a big block V8 then they must be good for a 2.4l four cylinder..........yes I realize they are 4 cylinders, but I bet the firing order would be different so will the header design.......

get a header designed for the intended engine, not based on another engine....
