Exclamation Transmission Giving out in 89 v6 3.0 HELP!!

Hello,
I am wondering what i should do, i have an 89 3.0 v6 and my tranny is going. it makes deep howling noises and the sincros are shot im asuming. It feels like the hole thing is outa wack. 2nd gear is going you really gotta ram it in there same with revers and therd all ways bites when ingaging. And forget about 5th i cant even use it it revs really really high sounds like i am doin 80 in first and when ingaged it jercks the truck and sound so so bad. I cant aford to have it rebuild so i was wondering what i should do.Go to the scrap yard and get one with less miles on it? I have 1926xx on my rig is it time for a new tranny the way i describe it? What are the codes/part number i have to match up? Will all 3.0 trannys fit my rig? Is it shot can i save her Help please!!!

That's the clutch. Replace it first and see if the rest of your problems go away.

That depends on how you drive the clutch. It is had to say how long a clutch will last. But this problem does sound like a clutch problem. You can also try a product called LUCAS for the trans. It really does work if it is your trans. I had a shop tell me that my Trans. was gone. The rig would not move at all. I put this Lucas in, and 3 years later, I was still driving her. When I sold it, it was still running strong. Trust me, I no, it works.

I have a feeling it is the clutch too. The R150 trannies are super tough, stout, transmissions. Unless you are a horrible shifter and grinding gears all the time, or doing serious towing or offroading all the time, or not changing your tranny fluid somewhat regularly, will you even come close to killing this transmission with the mileage on your rig. You're about due for a new clutch if you haven't had the original replaced yet, anyways.

You could always take it into a dealership for diagnosis potentially. Or at least someone who knows more than you.

It would also help us if you slowed down a bit and explained the situation in better english.

The R150 manual transmissions were in Toyota V6 trucks from 88 until 2004 (modified to fit either the 3.0 or 3.4 but they had the same gear ratios and gears).

Dunno about the rest of your problems, but the slipping is definitely the clutch. Gearsboxes don't slip - ever.

I had similar problems with sloppy shift, and noise in the same gears you are talking about. I changed the oil and put in some friction reducer (sinto) and it ran a lot better. It shifts better, runs better, and it almost seems like it is getting better and better every day. Its been about 1000 miles since I've done this. BTW: mine didn't slip tho.
