Transmission fill

Hi folks,

1995 RWD pickup, 2.4 5-speed. Just finished with replacing the oil in my transmission. I had to do my speed sensor anyway, and I lost about half a quart of oil when I pulled the sensor out of the transmission, so I just did it all this afternoon. I scoured the web and this forum looking for guidance on fill, and I came away with 2.3-2.7 quarts. Is that correct? I had to fill with the truck on an incline, nose up, so it would have ended up way overfilled if I had waited to observe for fluid overflowing out the fill bolt hole.

I took a short test drive, and first gear is a little less notchy now. Fill must be in the ballpark for the gears to work, but I was just hoping to have some confirmation that my ~2.5 quarts was adequate.

Thanks!

Only way to know for sure is park on level ground and remove fill plug to check.
