Transfercase leak.

I had a shop rebuild the transmission in my 95 3.0 auto. it leaks by the transfercase. so ive taken it in twice for the leak....well its back. but this time i found the culprit...and it looks like they did too but they botched the jb weld job. now im not thrilled about the jb weld. but the tranny shop said they have no idea what the little nib is for. ive tried reading through the FSM no luck. anyone have an idea so i can make them fix it right?

its on the drivers side about ex level

thnx

I'd make them fix it period, minus the jb weld. Pathetic.

yes. i agree but what is that nib? is it a weep hole(indicating they really botched it) or a set screw access or what?

I think I know the nub you're talking about, mine was leaking a small amount too. Just enough you could tell it leaked, but never enough to need more ATF. They tried to JB weld it off? I never figured out what it was and others had the same leak. It was kind of like a breather hole or something.
