Question tranny questions please help?

I got my transmission out in my 93 yota but I figured that there should be more than 3 bolts holdin the transmission on to the engine so how many are supposed to be there to hold it on? Also could this cause the tranny to leak anything out from were its connected to the engine?
Thanks Brandon

Bell Housing

Take a look at the bellhousing. On the 89-95 and likely other years, there are six main bolts and four smaller ones on the stiffener plate which is attached to the lower side. Two additional bolts hold on the starter motor. Look through the threads for the FSM.

+1 on what chris said! also the missing bolts wont likely cause the leak, since you've got your tranny out... its always a good idea to go ahead and replace the rear main and front seal in the tranny

What chris posted only applies to V6 engines. 22RE engines are different.

If you have a 22RE: There are only 4 main bolts holding the trans to the engine, and 4 more holding the support brackets to the engine.

Missing bolts will not cause an engine to leak.
