Tranny go "BOOM!"

So pulling out of the mall parking lot today the truck pops out of first gear with a bang and then becomes a giant paperweight! LOL!

No power gettting through the tranny or tcases. Last time I saw that happen was a sheared tcase input shaft but when that happened the drivetrain was pretty silent afterwards.

Mine is noisy as hell it just won't go anywhere. Almost sounds like stripped splines or something. Oh well time to drop the drivetrain. Sigh!.

Definitely sounds like you either twisted your input shaft or stripped your splines. Exactly what happened with my dodge.

No I haven't been hammering on it. It doesn't have anything to do with the 3.4 lol. It has been popping out of first for awhile so it was only a matter of time.

Ya. I'm thinking it could also be a broken shift fork. Anyway I am just going to try and find a used tranny that is in decent shape and do a re and re. I just got the truck back on the road and I'm sick of working on it.

I can rebuild the original this winter.

Hell I had the NV5600 6spd. That thing was a beast. I was just pushing over 500awhp, so it twisted that shaft and stripped the splines like it was made of playdough. Upgraded to chromo, no more problemo.
