ToyTec Interchangable?

I bought a basic 2" ToyTec lift w/aal for my 87 pickup, but never got around to installing it. Now I bought an 86' 4Runner. Will the lift work? There website offers different lifts for both applications, but I assumed that the drivetrain was the same.

yes, it will work, but next time, if you still have their number, give toytec a call... they will know...

Not necessarily. I get what you meant but you made a fairly 'blanket' statement which can quite easily be misinterpreted. Up front, the basic suspension components: control arms, steering linkage, et-cetera; are mostly identical from 86-95. But in 88/89, trucks got different leafs and 4Runners went to coils in the rear. There are also 'rumors' that leafs may be different within a particular year but I've not seen anything to substantiate that.

Are you sure? I only ask because up through 89 the 4runners are 1st gens (removable top) and I've never seen a 1st gen with factory coils. I know mine has leaves, well it actually has both but that wasn't a factory option.

I'd love to have factory coils on a 1st gen runner.

Yep, am sure, but maybe should've been more clear: I'm an idiot and didn't type it correctly.
Trucks got new leafs after 88 (in 89). 4Runners got coils after 89 (in 90).
